About Natalie

Natalie is the elected Councillor for Ward 7 in the City of Greater Sudbury, proudly representing the communities of Capreol, Skead, Falconbridge, Garson, and Kukagami. She has called Capreol home since 2014, where she lives with her husband Dan and is the proud mother of two adult sons. Her deep roots in Northern Ontario and long-standing commitment to community service have shaped both her personal and professional life.

Natalie believes that public service is about showing up, listening, and taking action. Her decision to serve in municipal government is grounded in a lifelong dedication to community building, civic engagement, and helping create stronger, more connected neighbourhoods.

Experience

With more than 25 years of experience in community leadership, public service, and volunteer work, Natalie brings a broad and practical understanding of how communities function and grow. Her background includes municipal government, economic development, strategic planning, and non-profit leadership, giving her experience on both the operational and policy sides of public service.

She previously served as a municipal councillor in northwestern Ontario from 2010 to 2014, where she gained first-hand experience in governance, budgeting, and representing residents at the council table. Over the years, she has also worked with municipalities, boards, and community organizations in a variety of roles focused on development, programming, and service delivery.

Professionally, Natalie works in the non-profit sector supporting older adults aged 50 and over, a role she values for its direct impact on quality of life and community well-being. She is also a former small business owner, having started her own trucking company at the age of 23, an experience that taught her resilience, independence, and the importance of practical decision-making.

Her community involvement spans decades and includes organizing events, supporting volunteer organizations, leading initiatives to improve local services, and working collaboratively with government partners, stakeholders, and residents across Northern Ontario.

Leadership & Vision

As Councillor, Natalie has focused on responsible growth, infrastructure investment, housing, transit improvements, and strengthening the economic foundation of Greater Sudbury. She is committed to ensuring that Ward 7 residents have a strong voice at City Hall and that their concerns are reflected in municipal decision-making.

Natalie’s approach to leadership is rooted in collaboration, accountability, and respect. She believes that effective governance requires open communication, thoughtful decision-making, and the willingness to work together across differences to achieve meaningful results.

She is a strong advocate for ensuring that growth in Greater Sudbury is managed responsibly, supported by the necessary infrastructure, and planned in a way that is fair to taxpayers. She also places a strong emphasis on public engagement, encouraging residents to stay involved, ask questions, and participate in shaping the future of their communities.

Natalie is seeking re-election in 2026 to continue building on the progress made over her first term. Her vision remains clear: to help create a stronger, more sustainable, and united Greater Sudbury—built together with the people who call it home.
